Knox County, Two Townships Sue Gov't Over Road
Damage

NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - Knox County and two townships have filed lawsuits against
the federal government for more than $4 million in damages to county roads and
bridges they claim stems from silt that has built up because of two dams built
on the Missouri River.
The county and townships want a federal judge to order the Corps to take corrective action that could involve dredging sediment from the mouth of the Niobrara River where it enters the Missouri. That could deepen the pool and ease flooding problems.
