Bedload Collector Videos

Project Overview

Paul Boyd, hydraulic engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers – Omaha District, provides a tour of the bedload collector site in operation for several days in September of 2024 on the Niobrara River just west of Niobrara, Neb. Information gained from this project is expected to be included in Phase 3 of building a Sediment Management Plan for the Lewis and Clark Lake Region. Footage provided by USACE and presented by MSAC.

Field Day

Information gathered from several days of operating a bedload collector on the Niobrara River will contribute to MSAC and USACE efforts at developing a sediment management plan for the Lewis and Clark Lake region, behind Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River. MSAC provides this video to give everyone a glimpse at the promising technology that could contribute to lengthening reservoir lifespans and sustainability.

Town Hall Meeting

MSAC hosted a town hall meeting during the Bedload Collector Pilot Project Week in September 2024. Paul Boyd, hydraulic engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District, outlined the project and shared videos and photos from the project site on the Niobrara River, just west of the village of Niobrara.
